WHEREAS, IT Florida is a not-for-profit membership organization that
represents Florida'9 diverse information technology communities
on a state-wide basis: and.
WHEREAS, each year IT Florida has an awards program that recognizes
outstanding achievement in various elements of information
technology and this year had over 243 applicants and
nominations,' and,
WHEREAS, this year Collier County's ProJect Innovation won IT Florida s
state - wide Exellence in Business Recruitment and Retention
Awar~ a major achievement when considered alongside the
breadth of nominations from all across the State; ane/,
WH€REAS, Project Innovation is an initiative to create a culture and
environment that WI'll attract and support world class talent; and.
WHEREAS, the success of Project Innovation wJ1/ come from a shared vision
and action plan for a strong and innovative economy, using the
power of the entire community~' and,
WHEREAS, the Project Innovation process is designed to ensure long- term
vision and shared responsibility for improving Collier County and
should be regarded as a marathon, not a sprint, with
achievements such as this award highlighting the correctness and
quality of the approach.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida. that December 1, 2009 be designated as
PROJECT INNOVA7TON DAY
