EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Commissioner request for Board approval for payment to attend function serving a valid
public purpose.
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public purpose for a
Commissioner to attend function/event and approve payment by the Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to resolution No. 99-410, the Board of County Commissioners
has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business, environmental,
educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic, and civic
associations/organizations serves a valid public purpose, provided that said functions reasonably
relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Jim Coletta
FUNCTION/EVENT: EDC - October Investor Luncheon
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Meet and interact with local business leaders
DATE OF FUNCTION/EVENT: October 06,2009

FISCAL IMPACT: S 15.00 Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
resolution No. 99-410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Coletta to attend
function serving a valid public purpose.

for the fiscal year 2009/2010. The first luncheon will take place on October 6,2009, at 12:00 noon.
The luncheons will take place the first Tuesday of each month, at the new Naples Daily News facility, located
at; 1200 Immokalee Road. These infoffi1ationalluncheons will provide you with EDC updates and include a
variety of knowledgeable speakers such as; Joe Bouch, President ofChisano Marketing Group; Mickie Valente,
Florida Jobs; Amy Evancho, Florida Economic Development Council; Randy Berridge, Florida High Tech
Corridor to name a few.
