PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the accounts payable function in any business is an essential and serious
responsibility and carried out by dedicated individuals who manage .a
variety of tasks that can include auditing of accounts payable and
expense reports, issuing checks, initiating wire transfers, making debt
Payments, accounts receivable and revenue collections; and
WHEREAS, the International Accounts Payable Professionals (ZAPP) are
committed to the advancement of individuals in the Accounts
Payable profession and provide certification training, best
practices, webinars, the bi- monthly magazine - Accounts Payable
Matters, online tools and other leading edge resources; and,
WHEREAS, the accounts payable function for Collier County government is
carried out by a department within the Clerk's finance
department that successfully processes over 100,000 invoices
and processes over 22 000 payment transactions per year, al/ of
which positively impacts Collier County's credit rating and
business relationships; and
WHEREAS, the dedicated individuals throughout Collier County that work
diligently in an accounts payable environment and, in particular,
the accounts payable staff that provide such a valuable and
essential service to Collier County government, are recognized for
the level of professionalism they bring.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that November 9 - 13, 2009 be
designated as
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE WEEK
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 27th Day of October, 2009.
