EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners approve a budget
amendment in the amount of $252,390 for payment of an invoice in the amount of
$269,390 from Criminal Justice Information System (enS) for Collier County's
portion of the cost sharing project for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit for FY 08/09.
OBJECTIVE: To pay Collier County's annual portion of the cns project expenses for
FY 08/09.
CONSIDERATIONS: The five counties of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit are entering
into agreements to jointly fund court technology costs out of the service charge collected
for recordipg documents listed in s. 28.222 F.S., as required by s. 28.24 F.S. A formal
Interlocal Agreement memorializing the statutorily required cost-sharing arrangement is
being presented to the Collier County Board of Commissioners for review and approval
on the Agenda for the September 15, 2009 meeting under a separate agenda item.
Collier County has participated in this cost-sharing of the integrated CJIS since FY 06/07.
The budget for the entire estimated annual contribution was not included during normal
budget preparations for FY 08/09 due to the uncertainty of collections of this fee.

FISCAL IMP ACT: Funds are budgeted in the amount of $17,000 in the Court Related
Technology Fund (178) and the balance of $252,390 is available in Reserves of the Court
Related Technology Fund (178). These funds are derived from a mandated fee and there
is no affect to the General Fund (001).
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There IS no growth management impact
associated with this request.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's
Office, it does not present a legal issue but is a regular agenda item only requiring a
majority vote for approval-SR T
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approve the budget
amendment and authorize the payment of $269,390 as Collier County's portion of the
cns project for FY 08/09.
