'"Inaugural Bayshore CuHural Festival of die Arts" on hnuary 23, 2010. The pmposc of this
grant application is to secure funds from an outside source to support the evt:'nl and lessen the

SUBJECT: County Manager Review and Approval of the "Florida Marlins Giving" Grant for
the "Inaugural Bayshore Cultural Festival of the Arts 2010"
The Collier County Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is applying for a grant from the
Florida Marlins Community Foundation to assist in costs associated with the January 2010
Inaugural Bayshore Cultural F esfival of the Arts in the amount of $2,000.
The purpose of the Florida Marlins Giving grant program is to promote projects that specifically
address the Arts, Education, or Baseball.
On July 28, 2009, CRA staff will request approval of the eRA Board to approve the "Bay shore
Cultural Festival of the Arts". Following this approval, CR.A. staff would like 10 submit this
grant to support the cost of the event. Since the grant application is due to the Florida Marlins
Community Foundation by July 31, 2009, this does not allow sufficient time to develop the grant
application and seek approval. Therefore your review and approval is requested to be followed
by after-the-fact approval at the Bee's September 15, 2009 meeting. The grant will only be
submitted if the CRA Board gives the approval for the festival.
Your approval also provides permission for the eRA Executive Director to sign and submit the
application.
