A RESOLUTION OF THE COLLIER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AUTHORIZING
SIGNING AND SUBMISSION OF A FEDERAL TRANSIT AGENCY 49 U.S.C. 5310 GRANT APPLICATION,
ASSURANANCES WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, AND ACCEPTANCE OF
THE GRANT A WARD FROM TIlE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, 49 U.S.C. 5310 authorizes the Secretary of Transportation to make grants and loans to local
govcrnment authorities such as Collier County to help provide mass transportution service planned, designed,
and curried out to meet the speciul needs of elderly individuuls und individuuls with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, each yeur, through an upplication process administered by the Florida Department of
Transportation, the CoIlier County Transportation Disadvantaged program is able to obtain funds that are to be
used I(lr the purchase of vehicles and for the provision of trunsportation services to the elderly or ruml residents
of Collier County. and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Local Coordinating Board (LCB) has requested that the Collier County Board
of County Commissioners submit applications for these FTA 49 U.S.c. 53/0/ FTA 49 U.S.c. 531 I funds in
order to purchase vehicles and for the provision of transportation services to the elderly or rurul residents of
Collier County, respectively; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, has authority to apply for and
uccept grants from the Florida Department of Transportation as authorized by Chapter 341, Florida Statutes, and
by the Federal Transit Administration Act of 1964, as umended.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Collier County Board of County Commissioners,
FLORIDA:
I. This resolution applies to a Federal Program 49 U.S.C Section 5310.
2 The submission of a grant application(s) (attached), supporting documenls, and assurances 10
the Florida Department of Transportation is approved.
2. That the Collier County Transportation Administrator or his designee is authorized 10 execute,
revise, amend, or terminate Ihe FY 2002 grant agreement and supporting documents.
4. Any decision to terminate the attached agreement shall require BCC approval as an agenda
item prior 10 the termination of said grant
5. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon signature by the Chuirman.

of Transportation in regard to its Application for Assistance under 49 U.S.C. Section 5310 dated
February 8. 2002
1) It shall adhere to all CertitiGllinns and Assurances made to the federal government in
its Application,
2) It shall comply with Sect iUIl 341.051 Florida Statutes and Chapter 14-73 Florida
Administrative Code,
3) It has the fiscal and managc ri ~d capabi I ity and legal authority to file the application.
4) Local matching funds wi II be available to purchase vehicles/equipment at the time an
order is placed.
5) It will carry adequate illsurance to maintain, repair, or replace project
vehicles/equipment in the C\'CIl of loss or damage due to an accident or casualty.

of vehicles/equipment.
