EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation for the Board of County Commissioners to approve the FY2008
5309 Federal Transit Administration (FT A) grant award in the amount of $259,000
for the purchase and installation of generators at the existing and future CAT
transfer facilities and approve a budget amendment to recognize these funds.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval from the Board of County Commissioners to approve
the FY2008 5309 Federal Transit Administration (FT A) grant in the amount of $259,000
and approve a budget amendment to recognize and use these funds.
CONSIDERATIONS: Collier County submitted a request for FTA Section 5309
funding to the Federal Transit Administration through their TeamWeb application
process. Collier County was awarded $259,000 in funding FY2008 from the Federal
Transit Administration. The b'Tant has been applied for and funds are available until
spent for a generator for the existing Collier Area Transit Administration and Operations
Center. Toll Revenue credits have been assigned by the Florida Department of
Transportation for the match for this FT A Section 5309 grant.

FISCAL IMPACT: It should be recognized that the grant award referenced above in the
amount of $259,000 is a FT A Section 5309 reimbursable capital projects b'Tant allocated
on a discretionary basis. The funds remain available for obligation until spent. In
approving this item the BCC is providing authorization to approve the budget amendment
to receive in Fund 426 Project 33031.1 and use these b'Tant dollars.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's
Office, does not involve a legal issue, and is a regular agenda item only requiring a
majority vote for approval-SR T
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Consistent with Objective 10 and 12 of the
Transportation Element of the Growth Management Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve a budget amendment to recognize revenue
received from the FY2008 5309 Federal Transit Administration b'Tant in the amount of
$259,000.

electronic signature is entered for this Grant Agreement, FTA has Awarded Federal assistance in support of the
Project described below. Upon Execution of this Grant Agreement by the Grantee named below, the Grantee
affirms this FTA Award, and enters into this Grant Agreement with FTA. The following documents are
incorporated by reference and made part of this Grant Agreement:
