EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation for the Board of County Commissioners to approve the FY2006
5309 Federal Transit Administration (FT A) grant award in the amount of $226,710
for the purchase and installation of a fuel tank at the existing CAT facility and
approve a budget amendment to recognize and use these funds.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval from the Board of County Commissioners to approve
the FY2006 5309 Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant award in the amount of
$226,710 and approve the budget amendment to recognize and use these funds.
CONSIDERATIONS: Collier County submitted a request for FTA Section 5309
funding to the Federal Transit Administration through their TeamWeb application process.
Collier County was awarded $226,710 in fimding from the Federal Transit Administration
for FY 2006. The grant has been applied for and funds are available until spent for fuel
tanks for the future fueling facility at the Collier Area Transit Administration and
Operations Center. In order to move forward with the installation of the fueling station at
this location an environmental assessment of the property will have to be completed.
Funding for the environmental assessment will be available through another 5309 FT A
grant awarded in 2003. There is no local match required since funds from Toll revenue
have been allocated by the FDOT to satisfy the local match requirement.

FISCAL IMP ACT: It should be recognized that the grant award referenced above in the
amount of $226,710 is a FTA Section 5309 reimbursable capital projects grant allocated
on a discretionary basis. The funds remain available for obligation until spent. In
approving this item the BCC is providing authorization to approve the budget amendment
to receive in Fund 426 Project 33038.1 and use these grant dollars.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's
Office, does not involve a legal issue, and is a regular agenda item only requiring a
majority vote for approvalD SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Consistent with Objective 10 and 12 of the
Transportation Element of the Growth Management Plan.
RECOMMENDA TION: To approve a budget amendment to recognize revenue
received from the FY2006 5309 Federal Transit Administration grant in the amount of
$226,710.

electronic signature is entered for this Grant Agreement, FTA has Awarded Federal assistance in support of the
Project described below. Upon Execution of this Grant Agreement by the Grantee named below, the Grantee
affirms this FTA Award, and enters into this Grant Agreement with FTA. The following documems are
incorporated by reference and made part of this Grant Agreement:

This grant is conditioned by the authorization of FOOT for Toll Revenue. A copy of the FOOT Toll Revenue Credit
Letter has been provided to FTA. The FOOT Toll Revene Credn is for $56,678.00 as the match.
