PROCLAMA TION
WHEReAS, the Naples Daily News Media Group is celebrating the opening of a new
state-of-the-art facility built on Immokalee Road in Naples
demonstrating its commitment to the citizens of and visitors to
Southwest Florida by providing excellence in media publications: and,
WHEREAS, the Naples Daily News, Bonita Daily News, The Banner, Marco Eagle,
Collier Citizen, Vista Semanal, The Journals, Naples Sun Times, Real
Estate Marketplace, and the Marco Magazine form the backbone of the
Naples News Media Group with the addition of on extensive internet
communication network: and,
WHEREAS, any civilized society can be measured by its dally media and how it
shapes the dominant cultural, social, ond political pictul'Vls of society and
it is essential for the intellectual, political, and business well-being of a
diverse community, as Collier County, to be well-served by its media
communications: and,
WHEREAS, by dedication and excellence of the staff employed by the Naples News
Media Group, Collier County is provided with newspapers and magazines
that reflect the essential elements of our society disseminating news,
information, and opinions for public consumption and providing a level of
commitment to the success of the community it serves,' and,
WHEREAS, the commemorative issue of the Naples Doily News wi'll cover the unique
history of the Naples Daily News thus becoming a keepsake.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that September 26, 2009, be designated as
NAPLES NEWS MEDIA GROUP DAY
