EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a Budget Amendment that will allow a transfer of
$48,600 from Conservation Collier Land Management Fund Reserves to
Conservation Collier Land Management Fund Operating.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain Collier County Board of County Commissioners (Board) approval for a
Budget Amendment that will allow $48,600 to be transferred from Conservation Collier Land
Management Fund (174) - Reserves to Conservation Collier Land Management Fund (174) -
Operating.
CONSIDERATION: Costs for land management activities at all Conservation Collier Preserves
in FY 2009 were estimated and appropriated prior to the acquisition of Pepper Ranch Preserve;
therefore, costs associated with contracting a professional firm to draft a Final Management
Plan at Pepper Ranch Preserve were not considered when preparing the Land Management
Fund (174) FY 2009 budget. Funds for the Pepper Ranch Final Management Plan are available
within Fund (174) - Reserves, but must be transferred to Fund (174) - Operating in order to be
expended.
FISCAL IMPACT: If approved this Budget Amendment will decrease Conservation Collier Land
Management Fund (174) — Reserves for Capital (993000) from $14,109,620 to $14,061,020,
and will increase Conservation Collier Land Management Fund (174) — Environmental
Consultant Fees (631800) from $20,000 to $68,600.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with
this Executive Summary,
LEGAL CONSIDERATION: This item raises no legal issues. This is a regular item requiring a
majority vote. - JBW
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board approves the necessary Budget Amendment to allow a
transfer of $48,600 from Conservation Collier Land Management Fund (174) Reserves to
Conservation Collier Land Management Fund (174) Operating.
