EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a budget amendment recognizing $20,023.80 in revenue from
an insurance reimbursement and appropriating funds for purchase and installation of new
boundary netting and removal of existing netting at two softball fields at Max Hasse
Community Park.
Obieetive: To replace two softball field boundary nettings at Max Hasse Community Park.
Considerations: The existing netting at the softball fields was destroyed during tropical storm
Fay. The replacement of the two nets is necessary to maintain safe operations at the park.
Staff has prepared a budget amendment recognizing $20,023.80 in insurance reimbursement and
appropriating funds for the purchase and installation of replacement netting. This will cover most
of the cost of two nets at $14,817.60 ($7,408.80 each including shipping) and $5,529 for
installation for a total of $20,346.60.
Fiscal Impact: Approving this budget amendment will increase the Parks and Recreation
Department Max Hasse Community Park operations (111- 156395) FY 09 budget by $20,023.80.
The balance of $322.80 will be paid for out of the FY09 operating budget (1.11- 156395).
Growth Management Impact: None.
Legal Considerations: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's Office and does
not present any legal issues. This item requires majority vote and is legally sufficient for Board

Recommendation: That the Board of County Commissioners approve a budget amendment
recognizing $20,023.80 in revenue from insurance reimbursement and appropriating funds for
purchase of boundary netting for Max Hasse Community Park.
