CONSIDERATIONS: The Health Facilities Authority has 2 vacancies. This 5 member authority was established by the Board of County Commissioners on November 20, 1979, by Ordinance No. 79 -95 in accordance with Chapter 154 of the Florida Statutes. The purpose of the Authority is to assist health facilities in the acquisition, construction, financing and refinancing of projects in any corporated or unincorporated area within the geographical limits of Collier County. Terms are 4 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup. Mr. Larry H. Ray resigned when he became a candidate for elective office and Ms. Maria Cecilia Ferrao's term expired on May 10, 2009. Mr. Timothy J. Reidy was the only applicant who responded to the notice published by the Board. On the basis of the information provided in the application form, Mr. Reidy appears to be well - qualified for service on the Authority. I particularly noted his experience in the construction and development of health care facilities and continuing care communities, as these are the types of facilities that the Authority finances.
