EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve expenses not to exceed $600 for Collier County to
provide bus service for conference participants from other counties to two locations
scheduled June 25, 2009, during the Florida Association of Counties 2009 Annual
Conference in Collier County at the Marriott Marco Island Resort
OBJECTIVE: To approve expenses not to exceed $600 for Collier County to provide
bus service by Naples Transportation and Tours for conference participants from other
counties to two locations scheduled for the Restaurant Tour on Thursday, June 25, 2009,
during the Florida Association of Counties 2009 Annual Conference in Collier County at
the Marriott Marco Island Resort.
CONSIDERATION: The Florida Association of Counties 2009 Annual Conference is
scheduled at the Marriott Marco Island Resort June 23-26, 2009. The itinerary includes a
Restaurant Tour event on Thursday, June 25 and the Collier County Board of County
Commissioners is being asked to approve the expense of providing bus transportation for
conference participants.
The exact number of persons who will be participating in the Restaurant Tour cannot be
determined at this time. However, staff has secured one 37-passenger bus that will
operate from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., transporting conference participants from the Marco
Marriott to two island locations - the Esplanade (three restaurants) and Snook Inn - and
back to the resort.
FISCAL IMP ACT: There is a fiscal impact not to exceed $600 associated with Collier
County providing bus service for county officials and conference participants to two
locations on June 25. Those funds will be sourced in the County Manager's Board-
Related Costs budget (General Fund 001).
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMP ACT: There 1S no growth management impact
associated with this executive summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: There are no legal considerations associated with this
executive summary, it is not quasi-judicial, requires no ex parte disclosure, and requires
only a majority vote for approval-SRT
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves
expenditures not to exceed $600 for Collier County to provide bus service for conference
participants from other counties to two locations scheduled June 25 during the Florida
Association of Counties 2009 Annual Conference in Collier County at the Marriott
Marco Island Resort.
