EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to award Contract #09-5242, "Naples Station Museum Phase IV"
to Wall Systems Inc. of SWFl, d/b/a Professional Building Systems, in the amount
of $98,238 to complete the installation of a fire suppression sprinkler system in
the Naples Depot Museum.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain Board approval to award Contract #09-5242, "Naples Station Museum
Phase IV" to Professional Building Systems, in the amount of $98,238 to complete the
installation of a fire suppression sprinkler system in the Naples Depot Museum.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Collier County Museum issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB #09-5242) on
April 17, 2009 to complete the installation of a fire suppression sprinkler system in the
Naples Depot Museum. A total of 742 bidders were notified with 187 downloading the bid
package. Five (5) firms submitted bids for the project by the deadline, May 8, 2009, as
summarized below:
Build LLC (Collier County) $147,899.00
PBS (Collier County) $ 98,238.00
Douglas N. Higgins, Inc. (Collier County) $219,800.00
Coral Sands (Charlotte County) $239,000.00
White General Construction, Inc. (Collier County) $100,820.00
The lowest, qualified responsive bidder was Professional Building Systems, with a bid of
$98,238.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funding to complete the installation of a fire suppression sprinkler
system in the Naples Depot Museum is currently available in the Museum's Fiscal Year 2009
Capital (Fund 314) budget.
LEGAL CONSIDERATION: This item is not quasi judicial, no ex parte disclosure is required,
requires majority vote only, and is legally sufficient for Board action. - CMG
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: While this action has no direct impact, it is consistent with
Collier County's goals to streamline and expedite the procurement of services.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners award Contract #09-5242,
"Naples Station Museum Phase IV", to the firm of Wall Systems Inc. of SWFL, d/b/a
Professional Building Systems in the amount of $98,238 and authorize the Chairman to
execute a standard County contract, as approved by the County Attorney.
