WHEREAS, Youth Leadership Collier strives to develop ethical leaders committed
to active community involvement; and,
WHEREAS, the Youth Leadership Collier program is open to Collier County high
school juniors who have an interest in furthering their knowledge
about the county and community leadership; and,
WHEREAS, the Youth Leadership Collier program empowers students to become
effective leaders through hands-on experiences and field work with
key organizations, while encouraging them to return or stay in Collier
County to begin careers and community leadership; and,
WHEREAS, the Youth Leadership Collier program is a week-long intensive
program that gives students first-hand experience in different
aspects of the community including government, healthcare, law
enforcement, business, agriculture, media, human resources,
environment, and the arts; and,
WHEREAS, the Youth Leadership Collier program is celebrating its 15th year of
operation, reaching more than 500 students to date.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that June 2019 be designated as
YOUTH LEADERSHIP MONTH
IN COLLIER COUNTY
and invite the citizens of Collier County to join in recognizing Youth Leadership Collier
for its contributions to community leadership.
