EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners award Bid #09.5233 in
the amount of $159,193 to Heatherwood Construction Company, Inc., for the
North Collier Regional Park Boardwalk Addition.
Obiective: Approval to award Bid #09-5233 to Heatherwood Construction Company, Inc.,
in the amount of$159,193 to extend the boardwalk located at the North Collier Regional Park.
Considerations: On April 8,2009, the Purchasing Department issued an invitation to Bid and
was posted on April 4, 2008.
The invitation to Bid included the supply of all materials, labor and equipment to extend the
length of the boardwalJ.<. approximately 900' by 6'- 0" wide over the preserve/wetlands to the
existing asphalt walkway (see attached site plan). Notices were sent electronically to 726
registered bidders, 161 bidders downloaded the bid documents, and 24 bid submissions were
received on April 29, 2009. The tabulation of bids is attached.
Staff reviewed the bid responses and recommends awarding the bid to Heatherwood
Construction Company, Inc., as the lowest qualified and responsive bidder meeting the
specifications.

Fiscal Impact: Funds are budgeted from North Collier Regional Park, Project Number 80602.
Leaal Consideration: This item is not quasi judicial, no ex parte disclosure is required,
requires majority vote, and is legally sufficient for Board action. - CMG
Growth Manaaement Impact: The value of the improved facility will be inventoried in the
Growth Management Plan.
Recommendation: That the Board of County Commissioners award Bid #09-5233 to
Heatherwood Construction Company, Inc., for the lump sum amount of$159,193.
