Appointment of member(s) to the Library Advisory Board
OBJECTIVE: To appoint] member to fulfill the remainder of a vacant term, expiring on
December 31, 2012, to the Library Advisory Board.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Library Advisory Board has I vacancy with the term expiring on
December 31, 20 12, representing Commission District 2. This 5-member board acts on behalf of
the Board of County Commissioners to establish policies of the Library Department including,
but not limited to, policies relating to materials acquisition and circulation, collection
development, and eligibility of individuals for library services. They also act in an advisory
capacity to the Board of County Commissioners for all Library Department issues regarding the
establishment of fees, the budget, capita] planning, staffing levels, and other library related
programs. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
