Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners approve and
authorize the Airport Authority to utilize $140,700.99 from the Immokalee
Infrastructure Fund 497 for the reconstruction of the T-hangar building at the
Everglades Airpark damaged by Hurricane Wilma, and associated budget
amendments. Federal Aviation Administration entitlement funds for Everglades
Airpark will be transferred to the Immokalee Regional Airport for infrastructure
projects to replace the funds used for hangar reconstruction at the Everglades
Airpark.
OBJECTIVE: That the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) approve and authorize
the Airport Authority to utilize $140.700,99 from Immokalee Infrastructure Fund 497 for
the reconstruction of the T -hangar building at Everglades Airpark.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Airport Authority received $495,079 in insurance proceeds
for reconstruction of the T-hangar building at Everglades Airpark destroyed by
Hurricane Wilma. The amount of expenditures to date total $81.180.86 and
commitments to date total $15,430,19. with bids for the prefabrication hangars of
$149,308. hangar doors of $89.876 and construction costs of $299,985, The total
amount for expenses to date and planned total $635.780.05. which is $140.700,99 more
than the $495,079 received from insurance proceeds. as indicated in the table below.

In order to award the bid to construct the T-hangars, the Authority is requesting that
$140.700.99 be utilized from the Immokalee Infrastructure Fund 497, Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) entitlement funds for Everglades Airpark will be transferred to the
Immokalee Regional Airport for infrastructure projects at Immokalee to replace the
funds used for hanger reconstruction at Everglades Airpark, The FAA entitlement funds
are anticipated to be received in July 2009.

FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed to decrease the Immokalee Airport
infrastructure Fund 497 by $140,700,99 and increase the Everglades Airpark T-Hangar
Reconstruction Project by $140,700,99.
