EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reject ITB 09.5191 for Court Reporting Services, and extend
current Bid 04-3685 for 180 days or until a new bid is awarded.
OBJECTIVE: To reject ITB 09-5191 for Court Reporting Services and authorize staff to
reissue a modified bid invitation. In addition, staff requests an extension of the current
Bid 04.3685 to continue court reporting services in the interim.
CONSIDERATIONS: ITB 09-5191 was issued on February 9, 2009, soliciting vendors
for court reporting services for various County departments. Notices were forwarded to
six (6) vendors and three (3) bids were received.
After bid notices were sent, staff determined that additional County departments needed
to be added as part of the scope of service. Further, the evaluation formula did not
adequately represent county departments requirements. Staff recommends rejecting
ITB 09-5191 and updating and reissuing a "Court Reporting Services" solicitation.
The current agreement expires April 28, 2009. Staff recommends extending the current
award under Bid 04-3685 by 180 days or until a new bid is awarded.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Summary.
There is no fiscal impact in the approval of this Executive
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact in
approving this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATION: This item is not quasi-judicial, and as such ex parte
disclosure is not required. This item requires majority vote only. This item is legally
sufficient for Board action. --CMG
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners (1) reject the bids
received under ITB 09-5191 for "Court Reporting Services", (2) authorize staff to
reissue a modified bid invitation, and (3) extend bid contract 04-3685 for 180 days or
until new bid is awarded.
