EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners award bid #09-5221, "Modular
Homes for Housing and Human Scrvices", to Idyll Construction, Inc. in the amount of
$344,259.00 to provide rcplaccmcnt homes using Disaster Rccovcry Initiative funds to four (4)
households whose homes were severely damaged as a result of Hurricane Wilma.
OBJECTIVE: That the Board of County Commissioners award bid # 09-5221, "Modular
Homes for Housing and Human Scrvices", to Idyll Construction, Inc. in the amount of
$344,259.00 to provide replacement homes using Disastcr Recovery Initiative funds to four (4)
households whose homes were severely damaged as a result of HUITicane Wilma.
CONSIDERATIONS: Bid# 09-522 I was posted by the Purchasing Department on February 27,
2009 and electronic notifications were scnt to eighty-scvcn (87) registered tinns with forty (40)
firms downloading the bid document and nine (9) tirms submitting bid responses. Idyll
Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsive and qualified bidder mecting the spccitications. A
County numbered purchase order will be utilized as the tonn of contract.
The four (4) units to be providcd consist of one (l) two-bedroom unit and thrcc (3) three-
bedroom units. The four (4) units bcing rcplaced will provide new housing for nine (9)
individuals.

FISCAL IMPACT: This bid award has zero impact on thc approved budget for this grant or the
projects. No general funds are bcing used for this project.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Disaster Rccovcry lnitiative funds benefit the low-
income residents of Collicr County and the activitics arc consistent with the Growth
Management Plan.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has becn revicwcd and approvcd by the County
AttolTIey's Office. This item is not quasi judicial, and as such ex partc disclosure is not
required. This item requircs majority vote only. This itcm is lcgally sufficicnt t<)r Board
