EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners award bid # 09-5221, Modular
Homes for Housing and Human Services Department, to Idyll Construction, Inc. in the amount
of $344,259.00 to provide replacement homes using Disaster Recovery Initiative funds to four
(4) citizens whose homes were severely damaged as a result of Hurricane Wilma.
OBJECTIVE: That the Board of County Commissioners award bid # 09.5221 to Idyll
Construetion, lne. in the amount of $344,259.00 to provide replacement homes using Disaster
Recovery Initiative funds to four (4) citizens whose homes were severely damaged as a result of
Hurricane Wilma.
CONSIDERATIONS: Bid# 09-5221 was posted by the Purchasing Department on February 27,
2009 and electronic notifications were sent to eighty-seven (87) registered firms with forty (40)
firms downloading the bid document and nine (9) firms submitting bid responses. Idyll
Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsive and qualified bidder meeting the specifications. A
County numbered purchase order will be utilized as the form of contract.
FISCAL IMP ACT: This bid award has zero impact on the approved budget for this grant or the
projects. No general funds are being used for this project.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Disaster Recovery Initiative funds benefit the low-
income residents of Collier County and the activities are consistent with the Growth
Management Plan.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County
Attorney's Office. This item is not quasi judicial, and as such ex parte disclosure is not
required. This item requires majority vote only. This item is legally sufficient for Board
approval. - CMG
