Appointment ofmemher(s) to the Radio Road Beautification Advisory Committee
OBJECTIVE: To appoint 2 members to serve 4-year terms, expiring on March 3, 2013, to the
Radio Road Beautification Advisory Committee.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Radio Road Beautification Advisory Committee had 2 terms
expire on March 3, 2009. This 5-member committee was established on October 21, 1997 by
Ordinance 97-52 10 aid and assist the Board of County Commissioners in carrying out the
purposes of providing curbing, watering facilities, plantings and maintenance of the median areas
as set forth in Ordinance No. 96-84. This 5 member committee shall recommend work programs
and priorities to the County Administrator or his designee. Members shall be permanent
residents within the MSTU. After initial staggered tenns, terms will be 4 years, A list of the
current membership is included in the backup.
The terms for John T, Weber and Wilfred Jaeger expired on March 3, 2009. A press release was
issued and resumes were received from the following 2 interested citizens:

NOTE: Section Seven (B) of Ordinance 2001-55 states "Terms of office for Board members
shall be limited to two consecutive tenns of service on anyone Board. .." Under (D) of the
same section, it is noted that "By a unanimous vote of the Commission, the limitations set fOlth
in subsection (B) above may be waived". According to available records, Wilfred Jaeger has
served 3 terms, Should the Board wish to re-appoint Mr. Jaeger, the limitations on two
consecutive terms will need to be waived.
FISCAL IMPACT: NONE
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners consider the
recommendation for appointment, appoint 2 members, and direct the County Attorney to prepare
a resolution confilming the appointments.

SUBJECT: Recommendation to the Bacc for filling its two vacancies in the Radio Road MSTtJ.
The Radio Road MSTU has received and reviewed two applications by the prescribed deadline for its
two vacancies. The Applicants were evaluated based on the potential contributions to the Committee.
Both applicants meet the criteria required to be eligible for the committee and reside within the MSTU's
district boundary.
Wilfred Jaeger has served in this committee for 10+ years and had 3 excused absences, John Weber
has served in this committee II months and had I excused absence. The Committee recommends both
Wilfred Jaeger and John Weber for Re-appointment.
