WHFREAS, water ls 0 hasic and essential need of every living creatufY: and,
WHEREAS, the State of Florida, its Water Management Disfrlcts, and the Collier County
Wafer-Sewer District work together to increase awareness of the importance
of water conservationl' and,
WHEREAS, Collier County ond the State of Florida have designated April - a typically dry
month when water demands are most acute - as F/orida's Water Conservation
Month, to educate citizens about how they can help save Florida s preciolls
water resources: and.
WHEREAS~ the Collier County Water-Sewer District has always encouraged and supported
water conservation thrcugh various educational programs and special events:
and,
WHEREAS, every business, industry, schoof. and citizen can make a difference when it
comes to conserving water. thus promoting a hl!althy econcmy and community:
and,
WHEREAS. Collier County joins the State of Florida in calling upon each citizen to help
protect our precious water resource by practicing water conservation
measures at home~ at school, at work. and while at play.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County~ Florida, that April. 2009 be designated as
WATER CONSERVA7TON MONTH
