EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners approve a budget
amendment for the Ochopee Fire Control District in the amount of $28,860 for
Architectural Services regarding the renovation of the Port of the Islands Marina into a
Fire Station.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain Board of County Commissioner's approval for a budget amendment in the
amount of $28,860 for architectural services regarding the renovation of the Port of the Islands
Marina into a Fire Station.
CONSIDERATIONS: On December 16, 2008 the Board of County Commissioners approved the
purchase of the Port of the Islands Marina (Agenda Item 10A). Since that date the purchase has
been completed and the property has been attained. Renovations to the structure are now
necessary in order to house personnel and apparatus, and architectural services are needed for this
process to begin. Approval of the budget amendment is necessary in order to appropriate funding for
these services.
FISCAL IMPACT: The Architectural Services in the amount of $28,860 will be paid by the Ochopee
Fire Control District Fund (146), with funding currently available in Reserves. This budget
amendment will appropriate funds, but results in no net change to the overall fund balance.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approve a budget amendment to
the Ochopee Fire Control District Fund (146) in the amount of $28,860.
