Appointment of member(s) to the Bayshore Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee
OBJECTIVE: To appoint 2 members to serve 4 year terms, expiring on March 3, 2013, to the
Bayshore Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Bayshore Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee had 2
terms expire on March 3,2009. This 7 member advisory committee was created on December
16, 1997, by Ordinance No. 97-82 to provide curbing, watering facilities, plantings and
maintenance of the median strips of roadways within the MSTU; provide traffic calming
improvements; and, beautification and maintenance of other areas within the MSTU. Members
will also prepare and recommend an itemized budget to the Board of County Commissioners.
Members must be permanent residents or owners of commercial property within the MSTU
boundaries. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
The tern1S for William Conrad Willkomm and Victor L. Brittain expired on March 3, 2009. A
press release was issued and resumes were received from the following 2 interested citizens:

SUBJECT: Recommendation to the BOCC for filling its two vacancies in the Bayshore MSTU.
The Bayshore Beautification MSTU has received and reviewed two applications by the prescribed deadline
for its two vacancies. The Applicants were evaluated based on the potential contributions to the
Committee. Both applicants meet the criteria required to be eligible for the committee and reside within
the MSTU's district boundary.
'Mr. Victor Brittain has served in this committee for 4 years and had 4 excused absences. Conrad
Willkomm has served in this committee for 2 years and had 2 excused absences. The Committee
recommend both Mr. Victor Brittain and Mr. Conrad Willkomm for re-appointments.
