EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners ratify a pnrehase
order increase exceeding $50,000 for the Santa Barbara Boulevard Extension
project (Project No. 60091) in accordance with the Collier County
Pnrchasing Policy (Fiscal Impact $50,(00).
OBJECTIVE: That the Board of County Commissioners ratify an increase of a purchase order
exceeding $50,000 for R W A Consulting, Inc., in accordance with Collier County's Purchasing
Policy.
CONSIDERATIONS: RWA Consulting, Inc. was hired by Collier County as an expert
consultant for the taking of property for the extension of Santa Barbara Boulevard from Davis
Boulevard to Rattlesnake Hammock Road. There are several parcels currently in dispute and the
County anticipates trial on 12 parcels. In order to continue the services of RWA Consulting,
Inc., it will be necessary to exceed the $50,000 cap. As outlined in Section VII.H. of Collier
County's Purchasing Policy, acquisitions that exceed $50,000 may be authorized by the County
Attorney and the Purchasing Department, but will be reported at a regular meeting of the Board
for ratification.

Staff is requesting ratification of a $50,000 incrcase of the purchase order with RW A Consulting,
Inc., to continue to provide the County litigation support and expert witness services in
preparation for trial on 12 parcels.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funds in the amount of $50,000 will come from the Gas Taxes and Impact
Fees. Source of funds are Gas Taxes and Impact Fees.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is legally sufficient for Board action, is not quasi-
judicial and as such, ex-parte disclosure is not required. This item requires only a mqjority vote.
