EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation For The Board Of County Commissioners To Award Request For
Quotation #09-PR-GGCP-WS "Golden Gate Community Park Water Slide" Under
Contract #06-3971 Annual Contract For General Contractor Services, In The
Amount Of $296,971 To Professional Building Systems For Replacement Of
Existing Structure At Golden Gate Community Park Aquatic Center.
OBJECTIVE: To maintain the highest quality recreation facilities at the lowest possible
eost.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Golden Gate Community Park Water Slide reqUires
replacement due to age and need to ensure public safety at faeility.
Request For Quotation #09-PR-GGCP-WS was posted on January 2, 2009. The nine
contractors already identified under Contract #06-3971 were notified via the E-
Procurement system. Quotes were opened on January 30, 2009, with two quotes
submitted. A quote tabulation sheet is attached for your review. The quotes submitted
are as follows:

Staff has reviewed the bids submitted and recommends award in the amount of $296,971
to Professional Building Systems, Inc. as the lowest qualified and responsive bidder.
"Due to budget constraints, Bid A Item #6 Shop Painting of all steel at $17,000 has been
deleted from the project.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is non-quasi judieial and as such ex-parte is
not required. This items requires simple majority vote. This item is legally sufficient for
Board action. - CMG
FISCAL IMPACT: Funds in the amount of $300,000 are budgeted in Project #80109
GGCP Replace Water Slides in the Parks Improvement ClP Fund (306),
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Golden Gate Aquatie Complex is inventoried
in the Growth Managcment Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Collier County Commissioners award RFQ
#09-PR-GGCP-WS issued through Work Order in the amount of $296,971 to
Professional Building Systems. Inc. for replacing water slide at Golden Gate Community
Park Aquatics Complex.
