Re: Public Petition Request to Discuss Sound Invasion on East Side of 1-75 Between
Golden Gate Parkway and Pine Ridge Road
Dear Mr. Poteet:
Please be advised that you are scheduled to appear before the Collier County Board of
Commissioners at the meeting of February 24, 2009 regarding the above referenced
subject.

Your petition to the Board of County Commissioners will be limited to ten minutes.
Please be advised that the Board will take no action on your petition at this meeting.
However, your petition may be placed on a future agenda for consideration at the
Board's discretion. If the subject matter is currently under litigation or is an on-going
Code Enforcement case, the Board will hear the item but will not discuss the item after it
has been presented. Therefore, your petition to the Board should be to advise them of
your concern and the need for action by the Board at a future meeting.
The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Board's Chambers on the Third Floor of the W.
Harmon Tumer Building (Building "F") of the government complex. Please arrange to be
present at this meeting and to respond to inquiries by Board members.

The Instellatlon of the 1-75 at Golden Gata Parkway Intersection hn created a
Mvere noise DI'Oblem for the residents alona the 1-75 corridor lIv1na between
Golden Gate Parkwev and Pine Rldae Roed. The Increased tretnc from the
exoanslon and the exltlna has become deafenlna at times. Prooertv values
are belna arr.ctad. Moat imDOrtantly. the aualltv of life enloved by the
residents Is severely diminished.
FOOT is oresently installlna sound walla on the wast slda of the highway
The sound Is now bounclna back Into the nelahborhood on the east side of
the highway. FOOT has verbally acknowledae the sound Ia Increasjna but
will do nothlna at this DOlnt to correct the oroblem. The Golden Gate Anta
Civic Association has been a verY strona oroDOnent for the Installation of the
Intersection. but not at the eXD8nse of the neighborhood. Prior to the
Installation of the Intersection. the Question about Increesed noise and the
need for noise wall. was nked and FOOT .taled there would be no need for
