EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO
ATTEND FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE
OBJECTIVE: For the Board ofCounfy Commissioners to declare a valid public
purpose for a Commissioner to attend function'eyent and approve payment by fhe Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant fa Resolution No, 99-410, the Board of County
Commissioners has defermined that attendance at fhe functions offraternal, business,
environmental, educational, charitabl e, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic,
and ciyic association/organizations seITes a valid puhlic purpose, provided that said
functions reasonably relate to Collier County matters.

FUNCTION/EVENT: Marco Island Historical Society Time Capsule and Beerial
Ceremony
PUBLIC PlIRPOSE: !vleet and interact with local business and community leaders.

FISCAL IMPACT: $25.00 Funds fo be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
Resolution No. 99-410, approve paymcnt by the Clerk for Commissioner Donna Fiala to
attend function serving a valid pllblic purpose.
