EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners ratify additions to,
modifications to and deletions from the 2009 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification
Plan made from October 2,2008 through December 31,2008.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval from the Board of County Commissioners to ratify
additions to, modifications to and deletions from the 2009 Fiscal Year Pay and
Classification Plan.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Board of County Commissioners has authorized the County
Manager to make additions to, modifications to and deletions from the 2009 Fiscal Year
Pay and Classification Plan subject to retroactive ratification by the Board. This occurs
three times during the fiscal year - in January, in April and in July. This is the first such
occurrence.
Attached, as Exhibit 1, are additions to, modifications to and deletions from the County's
2009 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan that were made between October 2, 2008
and December 31, 2008. The additions and two modifications reflect modified or new
responsibilities. The third modification and one deletion reflect changes in focus of a
classification from "Summer" to "Seasonal." Two other deletions result from job
classifications that have become obsolete.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is not quasi-judicial, and as such ex parte
disclosure is not required. This item requires a majority vote only. This item is legally
sufficient for Board action. - CMG
FISCAL IMPACT: The results of this action will have a fiscal impact to the County for
minimal salary adjustments which are absorbed by individual departments.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners ratify additions to,
modifications to and deletions from the 2009 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan.
