EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of Connty Commisioners approve award of Bid #ll9-5108,
"Annual Contract for Concrete Sidewalk and Curb Maintenance" to BQ Concrete, LLC
and Design-Bnild Engineers and Contractors, Inc. Annual expendtinres are estimated to be
$150,Ollll.
OBJECTIVE: To award an annual contract to furnish and deliver materials for the maintenance
of concrete sidewalks and curbs on Collier County roadways.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Collier County Purchasing Department posted Bid #09-5108,
"Annual Contract for Concrete Sidewalk and Curb Maintcnance" on November 7, 2008. Notices
of invitations to bid were sent to 350 vendors and eight (8) responses were received by the bid
opening date of November 25,2008. Staff recommends that this bid be awarded to BQ Concrete,
LLC as Primary and Design-Build Engineers and Contractors as the Secondary vendor. If the
Primary cannot provide the service/product within the required timeframe, the Secondary vendor
etc. will be utilized.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funds are budgeted within the MSTD General Fund 111 Road Maintenance
budget.
LEGAL CONSIDERA nONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County
Attorney's Office, is not quasi-judicial and requires no ex parte disclosure, requires only a
majority vote lor approval, and is othcrwise legally sufficient for Board action.-SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners award Bid #09-5108,
"Annual Contract for Concrete Sidewalk and Curb Maintenance" to BQ Concrete, LLC, and
Design-Build Engineers and Contractors as Sccondary: and authorize the Chairman of the Board
to sign the standard, County Attorney approved agreements.
