RESOLUTION ADOPTING FLORIDA TAX AMNESTY PROGRAM IN
EFFECT FROM JULY 1 - OCTOBER 31, 2003 WHICH COVERS
LOCAL OPTION TOURIST DEVELOPMENT TAXES.
WHEREAS, on May 27, 2003. the Florida Legislature in Senate Bill 18-A authorized the
Department of Revenue to implement an amnesty program for taxpayers subject to state and local taxes;
and
WHEREAS. the amnesty program applies to self-administered tourist development taxes if the
County opts into the program; and
WHEREAS, the amnesty program will be in effect for a 4-month period beginning July 1,2003
and ending on October 31. 2003; and
WHEREAS. the County desires to opt into the tax amnesty program.
NOW. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY. FLORIDA THAT the Collier County Tax Collector is
authorized to implement a tax amnesty program for taxpayers subject to the local option tourist
development tax.
