Jane Billings will be coordinating the event for the Community Foundation. I hope you might consider attending or you may want to suggest to others. See below and attached for details. Sincerely, Mary George From: Jane Billings Sent: Thursday, August 28, 2008 1:48 PM To: Mary George Subject: Workshop for Collier County Senior Service Providers Mary, As you our know, the Women's Initiative commissioned a report on the Status of Women and Girls in Collier County. During the course of data collection and research, one very apparent and urgent need repeatedly surfaced: a severe lack of support programs for senior women in need, plus a lack of infrastructure for senior services providers. Based on these findings the Women's Initiative will be targeting its grantmaking dollars to this underserved population. The Women's Initiative is funding a facilitated workshop at Telford Center on September 19. This workshop will be extremely informative as we have some very knowledgeable participants attending. I am attaching a list of attendees, and as you can see we have representatives from the state and federal agencies, the county, CAT, all nonprofits serving seniors and the two for- profit providers contacted by the Area Agency on Aging. 2 9/18/2008 9:47 AM by ResnickLisa / V _.•I SIP i.ei %J O. 5 "i'J January 13. 2029 I have asked the Executive Director from the Area Agency on Aging to make a shorL'a9' =5o'6 presentation on the many existing and new opportunities available for Senior Service Providers and what is working in other counties.
