EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a Budget Amendment recognizing Local Housing Trust Fund
revenue of $142,052.48 received as a result of the sale of County-owned surplus land.
OBJECTIVE: To continue to promote housing that is affordable through revenue generated from the
sale of county surplus property.
CONSIDERATIONS: On June 27, 2017, the Board approved Agenda Item #11F3 approving five (5)
county-owned parcels as surplus property and directing staff to take action with respect to the sale of the
surplus property.
On December 11, 2018, Agenda Item #11F was presented to the Board and they accepted a bid on one (1)
parcel of surplus property. The five-acre Mingo Drive parcel generated a bid of $140,000 which is
earmarked for the County’s Housing Trust Fund.
The current revenue recognized through this Budget Amendment will be used in compliance with
resolution 18-32 and will fund eligible expenses, including administration.

FISCAL IMPACT: A Budget Amendment is necessary to recognize the revenue received in the amount
of $142,052.48 in the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (116), Project Number 50137.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This Item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote
for Board approval. -JAB
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Acceptance of this Budget Amendment, and direction on a
work plan and policy will further the Goals, Objectives, and Policies within the Housing Element of the
Growth Management Plan.
