EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to accept and appropriate a restricted donation of $1,000 to benefit the
Vanderbilt Beach Branch Library and authorize the necessary Budget Amendment.
OBJECTIVE: To accept and appropriate a restricted donation to benefit the patrons of the Vanderbilt
Beach Branch Library.
CONSIDERATIONS: In January 2019, the Collier County Public Library received a donation from the
Smeds Charitable Gift Fund in the amount of $1,000 with the request that the money be used for the
Vanderbilt Beach Branch Library.
Funds will be used to enhance the quality of library service and programs to the residents and visitors of
the Vanderbilt Beach Branch Library.
FISCAL IMPACT: A Budget Amendment is needed to appropriate the $1,000 donation within the
Library's Public Services Grand Fund 709, Project 33610. There is no requirement for a County match.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This Item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to
form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact resulting from this
action.
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize a Budget Amendment to recognize and appropriate the restricted
donation of $1,000 to benefit the Vanderbilt Beach Branch Library.
