EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve and execute the attached FY19-20 Public Transportation Grant
Agreement (PTGA) with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in the amount of
$1,881,698 under State Transit Block Grant Program Contract Number G1577 providing for State
funding for eligible Collier County fixed route transit administrative, management, and operational
expenses in the amount of $940,849, approve a local match in the amount of $940,849, and
authorize the necessary Budget Amendments.
OBJECTIVE: To enter into an agreement with FDOT to receive $940,849 in State grant funding to
offset public fixed route transit administrative, management, and operational costs during FY2019-2020.
CONSIDERATIONS: State funding is made available each year through a process administered by
FDOT under the State Transit Block Grant Program. The PTGA Contract Number G1577 will provide
funding for eligible administrative, management, and operational expenses incurred while providing fixed
route transportation services in Collier County. The amount of State dollars available for FY2019-2020
totals $940,849 and requires a local match of $940,849.
FISCAL IMPACT: Budget Amendments are required to recognize grant funding in the amount of
$940,849 in CAT Grant Fund (424) Project 33607. A Budget Amendment is also required in the amount
of $940,849 in FY19 to CAT Grant Match Fund (425), Project 33607. Matching funds are available
within the Collier Area Transit Enhancement Fund (426) supported by a transfer of General Fund (001)
revenue.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This Item is consistent with the Transportation Element
Objectives 10 and 12 of the Growth Management Plan.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This Item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vot e
for Board action. -JAB
RECOMMENDATION: To approve and execute the attached PTGA Contract Number G1577 with
FDOT providing $940,849 in State funding for eligible Collier County public fixed route transit
administrative, management and operational expenses, approve local match in the amount of $940,849,
approve the attached Resolution, and authorize the necessary Budget Amendments.
