EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize revenue for the resurfacing/re-striping of Hickory Road within the
Road Maintenance Resurfacing Project # 60131 in the amount of $63,821.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize revenue for the resurfacing/restriping of Hi ckory Road that was damaged
by the contractor during the Irma clean-up, Project # 60131, within the Road Maintenance Resurfacing
Project.
CONSIDERATIONS: On January 11, 2018, during Hurricane Irma clean-up, the Collier County
Recycling Coordinator notified Road Maintenance, by email, that it had been witnessed by the debris
removal Inspectors that Hickory Road had been damaged by the clean-up contractor Ashbritt due to the
truck stabilizers. A Road Maintenance Inspector went to the location and confirmed the damage to the
roadway.
Ashbritt staff asked if we could help facilitate this repair by using the County’s contractor. Road
Maintenance staff provided Ashbritt an estimate of the cost based on the County contract. Two estimates
were discussed, one was for 3/4-inch asphalt overlay, the other option was a 1-inch asphalt overlay.
Road Maintenance staff and Ashbritt agreed upon a 3/4” asphalt overlay repair, of which the estimate is
attached.
Road Maintenance agreed that if Ashbritt supplied the funds, Road Maintenance would manage the
repair through the County contractor.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required to recognize $63,821 in additional revenue
exceeding FY19 budgeted amounts and appropriate into the Road Maintenance Resurfacing Project
#60131 within the Transportation Capital Fund 313.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This is no Growth Management Impact related to this item.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal
issues, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize the recognition of revenue for the resurfacing/re -striping of
Hickory Road within the Road Maintenance Resurfacing Project 60131.
