A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO DECLARE A VACANCY ON
THE PUBLIC VEHICLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Public Vehicle Advisory Committee was established by Collier
County Ordinance No. 95-66, as amended; and
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 95-66, as amended, provides that the
Public Vehicle Advisory Committee shall consist of five (5) members and one (1)
alternate with not less than two (2) nor more than three (3) of the members being
affiliated as holders of certificates to operate a motor vehicle for hire company within
Collier County; and
WHEREAS, Section Eight (B) of Collier County Ordinance No. 2001-55 provides, in
pertinent part that: "In the event that any board member who is absent from two
consecutive board meetings without a satisfactory excuse acceptable to the Board
chairman, the Board Chairman shall state such fact at the next regularly scheduled
Board meeting and shall thereafter notify, in writing, the administrative Assistant to the
Commission of the Board member's failure to attend without satisfactory excuse;" and
WHEREAS, the staff liaison to the Public Vehicle Advisory Committee forwarded a
memorandum to the Board of County Commissioners, advising that the Committee has
voted to recommend that the seat held by Richard Picket, representing the Non-
Affiliated Alternate category, be declared vacant on their Committee since this member
has failed to attend three consecutive meetings without a satisfactory excuse.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that after consideration of the facts
presented, the Board of County Commissioners hereby declares the seat of Richard
Picket to be vacant on the Public Vehicle Advisory Committee.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote.
