Resolution 2005-215 RESOLUTION NO. 2005 - 215 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, INCREASING METER INSTALLATION CHARGES (TAPPING FEES) AND BACKFLOW DEVICE CHARGES BY AMENnING SCHEDULE FOUR OF APPENnIX A TO SECTION FOUR OF COLLIER COUNTY ORnINANCE NO. 2001-73, ENTITLED THE COLLIER COUNTY WATER-SEWER nISTRICT UNIFORM BILLING, OPERATING AND REGULA TORY STANDARDS ORnINANCE; PROVIDING ADELA YED EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 2005. WHEREAS, on December 11, 2001 the Board of County Commissioners (Board) adopted an Ordinance No. 2001-73, entitled the Collier County Water-Sewer District Uniform Billing, Operating and Regulatory Standards Ordinance, thereby increasing Meter Installation Charges (Tapping Fees) and Backflow Device charges; and WHEREAS, Collier County uses the Tapping Fee and Backflow Device Charge to recover actual costs of time, equipment and materials; and WHEREAS, these Tapping Fees and backflow devices are based on the meter size and the costs of installation for a typical single family residence; and WHEREAS, these Fees and Charges are reviewed on a periodic basis to try to ensure adequate cost recovery, and in accordance with this periodic review, staff recommends that these Tapping Fees and these Backflow Device charges for single family residences be increased as specified in the attached, amended Schedule Four of Appendix A; and WHEREAS, the Board accepts staff's recommendations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: 1. The Board of County Commissioners hereby proclaims, after advertised public hearing, that the subject Tapping Fees and the Backflow Device Charges be increased as set forth in the attached, amended and incorporated herein by reference, Schedule Four of Appendix A of Ordinance No. 2001-73, (Collier County's Water-Sewer District Uniform Billing, Operating and Regulatory Standards Ordinance). 2. Delayed Effective Date, That the revised Tapping Fees and Backflow Device Charges will not take effect until 2;01 A.M. on Saturday October 1, 2005.
