PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the month of January marks the annual Florida Jewish History Month,
and January 28, 2019, marks the annual Jewish History Celebration Day
for Jewish Historical Society of Southwest Florida; and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Judith and Mr. Samuel Friedland are being honored during Collier
County Jewish History Month for their outstanding and collaborative
contributions to Florida for more than 30 years, including developing and
creating new technology, and establishing a thriving business provided job
opportunities to Collier County residents; and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Judith and Mr. Samuel Friedland built bridges across cultural and
ethnic divides to forge acceptance and unity of new and multi-generational
Floridians; and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Judith and Mr. Samuel Friedland provided resources and guidance in
the establishment and development of four houses of worship in Collier
County to serve the Jewish Community; and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Judith and Mr. Samuel Friedland exemplify the enduring relationship
of the State of Florida and the nation of Israel and continuing efforts
for peace and security of all families in Florida, Israel and throughout
the world.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that the Board recognizes and honors Dr. Judith and
Mr. Samuel Friedland for their many economic, religious and cultural
contributions.
