EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve three (3) satisfactions of mortgage for the State Housing Initiatives
Partnership (SHIP) loan program in the amount of $37,250.
OBJECTIVE: To support the affordability of housing in Collier County through the SHIP down-
payment, emergency repair, and/or rehabilitation assistance programs.
CONSIDERATIONS: SHIP, a state affordable housing program, provides assistance to first-time
homebuyers for use toward a portion of the required down payment and emergency repairs to the newly
acquired home. As a condition of the award, the homeowner must repay the assistance provided upon
sale, refinance, or loss of homestead exemption.
Community and Humans Services (CHS) staff received payoff request and payments for three (3)
properties listed below. The mortgages have been paid and the loans are satisfied.

*NOTE: The total amount stated on the mortgage was not dispersed to the client. Property owners are
required to pay the amount they received which is less than the amount stated on the mortgage.
Approval of this Item will authorize the Chairman to sign the satisfactions of mortgage and the executed
documents shall be recorded in the Public Records of Collier County, Florida.
FISCAL IMPACT: The repaid amount of $36,767.64 satisfies the mortgage amounts due to the
recapture provision as noted above. The repayments are considered program income. $36,767.64 was
deposited in SHIP Grant Fund (791), Project 33569. Deposited funds will be used for eligible SHIP
activities. The $10 recording fee was paid by the three (3) parties.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This Item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote
for Board approval -JAB
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: SHIP housing programs help the County meet some of the
goals and objectives of the Housing Element of the Growth Management Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve and authorize the Chair to sign the three (3) satisfactions of
mortgage for the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) loan program in the amount of $37,250.
