RESOLUTION NO. 2005-39
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO DECLARE A VACANCY ON
THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD.
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was created on November 25,
1975, and was composed of five (5) members; and
WHEREAS, on October 25, 1993, the Board of County Commissioners adopted
Ordinance No. 93-81 which increased the membership from five (5) members to seven
(7) members; and
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 2001-55, the County's general advisory
boards ordinance, provides that any board member who is absent from more than half
of the scheduled meetings in a given fiscal year shall be deemed to have tendered his
or her resignation from such board, and if the Board of County Commissioners concur
with the statements of the advisory board, the Commissioners shall declare the position
to be vacant; and
WHEREAS, the Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board has submitted
a letter advising that Ronald J. Brown has failed to comply with the requirements set
forth in Ordinance No. 2001-55, and has requested that the Board of County
Commissioners declare that the seat held by Ronald J. Brown be vacant on their Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that after consideration of the facts
presented, the Board of County Commissioners hereby declares the seat of Ronald J.
Brown to be vacant on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote.
