EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to award Bid No. 09-5323 "On-Call Plumbing Contractors" to
Shamrock Plumbing and Mechanical, Inc. as primary, Precision Plumbing Services,
Inc. as secondary, and Four Star Plumbing Contractors, Inc. as tertiary at an
estimated annual cost of $210,000.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval from the Board of County Commissioners to award Bid No. 09-
5323, "On-Call Plumbing Contractors" to Shamrock Plumbing and Mechanical, Inc. as primary,
Precision Plumbing Services, Inc. as secondary, and Four Star Plumbing Contractors, Inc. as
tertiary for plumbing services.
CONSIDERATION: The Department of Facilities Management is responsible for the maintenance,
repair, and replacement of all County plumbing fixlures and lines which are used throughout the
County in various County facilities. The Department out-sources major plumbing repairs and
improvements.
On September 23, 2009, the Purchasing Department sent ninety- six (96) notices to businesses.
From those notices, forty (40) bid packages were downloaded and six (6) bids were received. The
bid tabulation is attached.
Staff recommends multiple awards to Shamrock Plumbing and Mechanical, Inc. as primary,
Precision Plumbing Services, Inc as secondary, and Four Star Plumbing Contractors, Inc. as
tertiary for On-Call plumbing services.

FISCAL IMPACT: On-Call plumbing service expenses average $210,000 annually. Funds are
budgeted in FY 2009-10 Facilities Management's budgets.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impacl associated with this
Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item raises no legal issues. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Collier County Commissioners approves the award of Bid
No. 09-5323 "On-Call Plumbing Contractors" to Shamrock Plumbing and Mechanical, Inc. as
primary, Precision Plumbing Services, Inc. as secondary, and Four Star Plumbing Contractors, Inc.
as tertiary for plumbing services and authorizes the Chairman to execute the standard contracts
after approval by the County Attorney.
