EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to accept and recognize a grant donation from The C.W. Donley Memorial Fund
through the Branch County Community Foundation in the amount of $500 for general support of
the Collier County Public Library.
OBJECTIVE: To accept and recognize a grant donation in the amount of $500 for general support of the
Collier County Public Library.
CONSIDERATIONS: In October 2018, The C.W. Donley Memorial Fund contributed $500 towards
general support of the Collier County Public Library through the Branch County Community Foundation
Donor Advised Fund Grant Program.
The Branch County Community Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to promoting
philanthropy, building endowments and other charitable funds, and connecting community resources. The
donor-advised fund grant was made possible through a donation by Collier County Residents Dr. C. C.
and Ann Wu.
FISCAL IMPACT: A Budget Amendment is needed to appropriate the donations totaling $500 within
the Public Service Grant Fund (709) (Project #33609). There is no requirement for a County match.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This Item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to
form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact resulting from this
action.
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize a Budget Amendment to recognize a $500 grant donation for
general support of the Collier County Public Library.

that this grant does not satisfy any pre-existing pledge;
2. that the organization has tax-exempt status under IRC section 501(c)(3) or that the organization would quality for tax-exempt
status under IRC section 501(c)(3) and would generally be eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions because the
organization meets all of the following requirements.3. the organization is organized and operated exclusively for religious, educational, scientific, or other charitable purposes;
a. net earnings do not inure to the benefit of any private individual or shareholder;b. no substantial part of the organization's activities are aftempts to influence legislation;c. the organization does not intervene in political campaigns;d. the organization's purposes and activities are not illegal or violate fundamental public policy;
4. that the grant will be used for the purposes noted on the check stub or other enclosed documents;5. that if a supporting organization, it is a public charity under Section 509(a)(3) of the lnternal Revenue Code, and it is a Type l,
Type ll, or Type lllfunctionally integrated suppofting organization; and6. that the organization will submit an evaluation form or summary, if requested by the Community Foundation.
This Branch County Community Foundation grant is subject to review and modification and may be cancelled should performance
suggest such action. This grant does not obligate the Foundation to provide your organization with any additional support.
Receipts/Acknowledqements
This check represents a grant from the Community Foundation through one of its donor advised funds; therefore, your organization
should not provide the donor with a tax receipt for this qrant.
