EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Tracy Williams, Librarian, Public Services Department as the
December 2018 Employee of the Month.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize the efforts and accomplishments of an employee who has made significant
contributions to the organization or to our community.
CONSIDERATIONS: Tracy has been with Collier County for 2 years and works in the Library
Division.
Tracy has worked for Collier County Public Library since May 2016. As part of her dedication to library
services and excellent customer service skills, she has willingly accepted additional job responsibilities at
Headquarters Library. Her conscientious application and devotion to her profession has consistently set a
positive example for the rest of the staff. Most recently, Tracy has stepped up to assume additional job
responsibilities with our Mail-A-Book (MAB) program. She has helped standardize the procedures and
streamlined the process to reduce time spent with redundant and inefficient processes. Throughout the
process, her superlative customer service skills increased the Mail a Book participation. Prior to this
challenge, Tracy volunteered to help create, execute, and run programming for our teen patrons, outside
of her adult Public Services duties. Tracy aids any area in the Library to maintain a continuity of services
to the patrons and enjoys interacting one-on-one with them whether on the phone, doing research, in
person, working with children, teens and seniors, or reaching out to patrons via outreach and partnerships.
Her creative ability is inspiring and her aspirations for Collier County Public Library are sky high. Tracy
embraces all the most important tenets of librarianship: commitment to community engagement,
creativity, compassion, excellent reference services, and top-notch reader’s advisory assistance. Her
focus is always with the patron in mind, and to this end, Tracy consistently “exceeds expectations” and
therefore, she is so deserving of the Employee of the Month award.
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected “Employee of the Month” receives a $150 cash award. Funds for this
are available in the employee's budget cost center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There are no Growth Management Impacts associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the recognition of Tracy Williams as the December 2018
Employee of the Month.
