EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint two members to the Development Services Advisory Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint two members to fill currently vacant terms on the Development Services
Advisory Committee (DSAC).
CONSIDERATIONS: This committee was created by Ordinance No. 93-76, as amended, to provide
reports and recommendations to the BCC to assist in the enhancement of operational efficiency and
budgetary accountability within the Growth Management Division and to serve as a primary
communication link between the Growth Management Division, the development industry and the
citizens of Collier County. This committee represents the various aspects of the development industry
such as architect, general contractor, residential or building contractor, environmentalist, land planner,
land developer, landscape architect, professional engineer, utility contractor, plumbing contractor,
electrical contractor, structural engineer, and attorney. Terms are 4 years. A list of the current
membership is included in the backup.
There are currently two vacant seats on this committee. The vacancies were advertised, and applications
were received from the following:

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its regular meetings on September 6, 2018, and November
7, 2018, the committee reviewed the above applications and voted to recommend that Mr. McLean be
appointed to fill the currently vacant term expiring on December 14, 2020, and that Mr. English be
appointed to fill the currently vacant term expiring on December 14, 2019. Recommendation memos are
included in the backup to this item.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the appointments.
