EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize accrued interest earned by EMS County Grant revenue and
appropriate funds for a total amount of $1,053.22.
OBJECTIVE: To appropriate accrued interest earned from April 1 - September 30, 2018 for EMS
County Grants awarded by the Florida Department of Health under the Emergency Medical Services
County Grant Programs.
CONSIDERATIONS: Each year EMS is awarded a grant through the Florida Department of Health,
Bureau of EMS. The most recent grant was approved by the Board on October 9, 2018. The State allows
for the rollover of any unexpended funds, including interest, to the next year’s grant for County
expenditure. Interest in EMS Grant Fund 493 has accrued to a balance of $1,053.22 through September
30, 2018. Staff is seeking Board approval to recognize and appropriate this accrued interest in order to
expend the funds.
FISCAL IMPACT: A Budget Amendment is required to recognize a total of $1,053.22 within EMS
Grant Fund 493, Project 33586 for accrued interest.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to
form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact association with this
action.
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize the necessary Budget Amendments in the amount of $1,053.22 to
appropriate accrued interest through September 30, 2018.
