EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reappoint a member to the Immokalee Beautification MSTU Advisory
Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint a member to the Immokalee Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee to
a four-year term expiring on September 23, 2022.
CONSIDERATIONS: This five-member committee was created by Ord. No. 85-65, amended by Ord.
Nos. 90-8 and 92-40, to assist the Board of County Commissioners in the business affairs of the
Immokalee Beautification Taxing District, and prepare and recommend an itemized budget to carry out
the business of the district for each fiscal year. Membership represents the population of the area within
the Immokalee Beautification District. Ord. No. 2002-52 was adopted on 10/22/02 changing membership
as follows: four members shall be permanent residents within the MSTU and one member may be an
owner of residential or commercial property within the MSTU or may be an appointed representative of a
business located within the MSTU and an elector of Collier County. Te rms are four years. A list of the
current membership is included in the backup.
Two seats on this advisory committee expired on September 23, 2018. The vacancies were advertised,
and an application was received from the following:

ATTENDANCE: Ms. Halman has had perfect attendance for the past two years. Attendance records are
included in the backup.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its meeting on October 17, 2018, the committee voted
unanimously to recommend that Ms. Halman be reappointed to her seat on the committee, to a term
which shall expire on September 23, 2022. A recommendation memo is included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the reappointment.
