EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve the 2018-2019 Agreement between Collier County and the City of
Naples for FY18 City of Naples Beach Maintenance Project in the amount of $185,000, authorize the
Chairman to execute Agreement and make a finding that this item promotes tourism (Project No.
90527).
OBJECTIVE: To approve Grant Agreement between Collier County and the City of Naples for the FY
18 City of Naples Beach Maintenance.
CONSIDERATIONS: On June 26, 2018, (Item 16A17), the Board approved the Tourist Development
Council Grant application requests for Beaches, Pass and Inlet Maintenance, and fishing piers for the City
of Naples, the City of Marco Island, and Collier County for FY-2018-2019.
This City of Naples Beach Maintenance Project agreement in the amount of $185,000 was not included
with the Coastal Advisory Committee (CAC) grant requests on June 26, 2018 to the Board because
Naples pier repairs responsibilities were not resolved. The Naples Pier funding was not approved, and the
Agreement was then processed for the City of Naples Beach Maintenance Project (without pier
maintenance) in the amount of $185,000.
The City of Naples approved the Agreement on September 17, 2018, Item 7A.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funding is provided in TDC Beach Renourishment Fund (195) under Project 90527.
ADVISORY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS: At the May 12, 2018 Coastal Advisory
Committee (CAC) meeting this item was unanimously recommended for approval by a 7 to 0 vote.
At the May 29, 2018 Tourist Development Council (TDC) this item was unanimously recommended for
approval by an 8 to 0 vote.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote
for Board approval. - CMG
