Backup Documents 12/14/2010 Item # 4DPROCLAMA TION WHEREAS, on November 30, 2010, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida commences the construction of the Dalton Discovery Center, part of the overall 'Saving Southwest Florida" Campaign, designed to increase visibility and raise awareness of the importance of wildlife rehabilitation work conducted by the Conservancy; and, WHEREAS, we celebrate the start of a project that will surely become an important and integral part of protecting our native wildlife, our environment, and our quality of life in southwest Florida; and, WHEREAS, The Dalton Discovery Center will be a significant enhancement, enabling the Conservancy to shelter approximately 150 animal species including reptiles, juvenile sea turtles and other species of animals that are part of Southwest Florida's mosaic of diverse ecosystems; and, WHEREAS, we express our gratitude to Sue and Bill Dalton for their generous lead gift in support of the Dalton Discovery Center where guests can explore the major ecosystems of Florida through interactive experiences featuring exhibits of the Everglades, mangroves, endangered species, sandy beaches, and the post and future of southwest Florida's unique environment. NOW THEREFOR, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that November 30, 2010 be designated as CONSERVANCY OF SOUTHWEST" FLORIDA DAL 110N MSCO VERY CENTER DAY DONE AND ORDERED THIS 30th Day of November, 2010.
